Rock and a Hard Place Necklace No. 3
This piece has me thinking about rocks, hard places, and the choices that lie between them.
In 2011, I sucked at my job as a community organizer, and was asked to either take a severance and leave, or be on a 90 day probation. It was like being asked to jump off a cliff into the unknown, or submit humbly to the fact that you aren’t as competent as you thought and everyone sees it - naked and exposed.
So, I jumped off the cliff. I stayed home with my daughter, made muffins, and set up a studio. And these many years later, I’m recognizing the beauty that grows when you confront difficult choices and thrive in the midst of them.
Thick slice of druzy agate.
Succulents, seed pods, and dogwood casted in sterling silver.
34" sterling silver baby polo chain, long enough to slip over the head.
